Discussion Topic Seven (2010/4/19~4/25):
The animation movie entitled "The Girl Who Leapt through Time" tells a story about a teenage girl's choices of her love and her future career in the labyrinth of time.
Question: What is the movie trying to tell us?

ReplyDeleteI think that the movie was trying to tell us that time goes on by its own.
What's in the past can not be changed.
And What's been decided can not be turned back.
What's done is done. No matter how hard you try to chase the time.
Time won't wait! And what you have done may change not only your own life, but also other people's life.
Like in the movie, the girl that can leap through time was struggled by the fact that no matter
how hard she worked for, she could not manage to
please everyone or even herself.
Time traveling may be great, but once you hurt someone you care about like the aunt "witch" in the movie that the girl always went there ask for help said--"it may not be worthy".
And as to myself, I do hope that I can have the ability to do time traveling.
But due to the consequences I might not have the courage to face, I would not try to disturb the nature cause! There are my opinions.

ReplyDeleteIt’s easy for a teenage girl to misuse the magical and uncanny power of traveling through time, especially when the teenage girl is energetic and playful. The female character is sporty and athletic and she is full of vigor. She hangs out with two male characters all the time and thus she’s not as prudent and considerate as other girls. At first, the teenage girl uses the time machine to transfer her to previous certain periods of time and therefore she can enjoy her favorite desserts or abundant meals again and again when in good moods and bad moods, which is achieved by running and then jumping in the air. Afterwards, the girl uses the time machine to get away with the disasters in the cooking room she carelessly causes, but all these disasters harm others in return. She even avoids being asked out by one of the male characters by time travelling. The whole movie is centered on different relationships which we should take seriously instead of messing about with others’ feelings. Time is sure to go on-and-on so all we have to do is to cherish every moment when dealing with people or things instead of thinking of going back to restore or repair irreversible events.

No matter what we do, just follow our heart. Being an adventurous person with principle is another choice. The actress changed her decision several times without a thorough consideration. Then, she felt regrets and traveled back to change everyone’s fate again. It would be awful to know someone change our destiny under his or her will.
ReplyDeleteFrom my viewpoint, she is not a discreet girl and always bumped into troubles. I think people should think twice before making any decision even on a trivial matter. Sometimes, I wonder if people have the ability to travel back or to the future, would they cherish their own the present or not? It depends on different kind of person.
As for my part,I would definitely take advantage of every moment and make decision carefully. I don’t like the feeling of reflecting on my regrets and blunders. I just wish everything could be perfect without any defects.

I think that whatever we make up our mind to do something we had better be true to ourselves lest we may regret in the future. And it tells us that not everything can start over when we find it is a tremendous mistake. Actually, what we can do is schedule what you want to do and try hard to realize it. Although we have to take many things into consideration, yet we may lose a lot of things when we hesitate whether we ought to do it. After repenting for several reasons, I know that what makes regret most is that I am not brave enough to do what has been in my heart for a long time. Therefore, I think the film tries to tell us that it is do or die. All you have to do is make up your mind and then do it.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I think that the movie is trying to tell us --- "Time waits for nobody, and we should grasp every moment." Once we have a goal that you want to make it realize, we should immediately take action to achieve it. Once there is a good opportunity coming closed to us, don't hesitate and we must catch it. Moreover, the movie is also trying to tell us that the past time actually can't be returned and what has happened can't be changed. Therefore, what to do and choose should be followed by our hearts; however, we also need to think twice before taking action so that we will not do something we will regret.

I think that the movie was trying to us that time is precious and it never comes back. Many people want to switch the time as wish, for they want to retrieve something they lose or other reasons. I had read the comic book of "The Girl Who Leapt through Time" when I was senior high school student. i was very impressed by this story. One of the reason is she can through time and went back to the past.But she always returned to modified the tiny mistakes or something she don't want to happened. However, when she found she used the last of the chance to through time for the boring thing,she cann't prevent her friends hitting by train. It's useless to have to ability of thriugh time. In my opinion, everything cann't be changed easily whatever it would the wrost thing. "Time waits for no one" we should appreciate what you have right now and seize the moment. Do what you want to do immediately.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the movie wants to convey us that we should cherish our time and beloved people around us.We cannot ever go back to the past, so we should grasp our time well. We should not waste our time. We have to use every miniute to finish the things we want to do. Besides, we should face our true love bravely. No matter how hard the situation is, we should never give up our true love. In the movie, the girl almost miss a boy whom she loves deeply. However, they finally meet each other in the end. In the scene, we can know that if we do not face the true love, we might lose a lot of things in the end.

ReplyDeleteI think the movie is trying to tell us that we cannot escape facing the music. For example, the boy tries to tell the girl something but the girl resists admitting that she likes the boy. Therefore, she chooses to escape and to convince herself that it didn’t happen before. Besides, the movie also tell us that time cannot go back like the movie acts out. That is, once we make up our decision, there is no chance for us to regret. We should treasure every chance and make good use of it; otherwise, we may have no chance next time. Furthermore, I think the love between them is very impressive. They are both willing to sacrifice their last opportunity for each other. They do it because they like each other very much.

I think that we should cherish what we have now because we are not able to go back even if we lose something important. Besides, we should always think twice before making decisions. Although everyone makes mistakes, some mistakes can be irrepairable. I think that we all have the experience of repenting doing something. Something that affects a lot for a long time to us. Although the character could go back to the scene that she wants, however, she would lose something important or make others miserable. If we want to do something again, we must sacrifice something important to us.

I think the movie tries to tell us that we should seize the time and do things after making careful consideration. We cannot make decision at random and regret what we have done later on. Every opportunity and time is very precious and we shouldn’t lose and neglect them. The main character in the movie missed lots of chances. When she founded she had superpower and wanted to compensate the things she didn’t do well, she wasted lots of time and at last regretted many decision she didn’t make well. We really have to learn some lesson from it!

Because Idon't like leading roleI have a choice between two girl or two boy, but he(she) can't decide which one. The othes might be struggled of the leading role. I think this movie tell us : Life can't live again is unfortune ,but the fortune is it don't need live again(人生最可惜的是：它無法重來；人生最可貴的是：它不需要重來。).

I think it's very obvious!!! That is "time waits for no one"!!In the movie, Makoto sees the words “time waits for no one” written on a classroom blackboard. Therein lies the message of the film. In the movie,although Makoto had the power that can go back to the past,but, in the end , she didn't satisfy with the result. That means that we should seize the opportunity that we have now and cherish them.

The movie tries to tell us that time waits for no one. I think that time is so precious because it is finite and nobody could control it. We couldn’t increase our time, so we have to enjoy all of the things happened nearby and create wonderful memories to make our lives more colorful. Because we also couldn’t stop the time or even turn it back, we have to conduct a full consideration in order to make sure we won’t regret having made that decision. It is important to cherish the time and use it well.

What is the movie trying to tell us?
ReplyDeleteThe main character that could leap the time is a desire of this ability. People want to possess this kind of magical power. But it is very superficial to think about this. We all have multiple choices in our lives. However, we cannot define which one is the best one. Sometimes, we regretted what we had selected. If we could have this ability, we could re-choose to compensate the mistakes or repentance we had made. Before making a decision, we should think twice and consider which one is much better than the other. Of course, we couldn’t tell which one is the best, but we can judge. Furthermore, it mentioned love in the movie. People are usually struggling with love because we have senses and perceptibility. It causes people to fall in love with someone or have resentment at someone. And the times are limited because if the ability perpetuates, I think it would result in some problems like people wouldn’t cherish everything near themselves. They would tend to be so greedy and avaricious that they feel like something and make no efforts to get them. What’s more, they would ignore the significance of time and age, which makes people in a state of chaos. In conclusion, be aware of time and cherish everything.

I think the movie tells us that what ever you do, you can’t change the past, and you can only change the future by doing things right since now. The girl in the movie went back time over and over again trying to make things right, but in the end all of them were no use. She realize that letting it start over and “not to try to make things right” is the only right way to let things go on. No matter how hard she tried, in the end she only hearts the love ones in her life. This tells us to seize what you have now and try to do better things in the future, don’t try to change the past, just remember what you did wrong and don’t ever do that again.

The teenage girl in this movie had a magical power to leap through time, so she constantly used her talent to go back to the time when something she wanted to start again. Her real intention to do this was to make what she had done become better; however, she ignored the importance of cherishing time seriously. As she found the chances of going back to previous time became fewer, she began to be conscious of that she needed to make good use of every chance. I think most of us are like this teenage girl. Only when we regret what we have done and hope the things to start again do we know the importance of cherishing time. In addition, the movie tells us that we should be true to ourselves and not try to deceive our real mind. The teenager girl was very shocked that she should fall in love with her good friend and was reluctant to accept the truth at first. Since she thought that if she confessed to him that she liked him, she was afraid of being turned down and even their friendship would break up. I think she should be brave and have confidence in herself. Learning from this teenager girl, we should seize every opportunity and make good use of it.

So many people live in regret, I am no exception. We always hear some complaints from our friends because they thought they didn’t do well on this and that. That’s why this movie was produced.
ReplyDeleteThis movie expresses one concept to us. If we really have a power to change what we’ve done, are we truly satisfied with the consequences. In fact, it is not. No matter how hard we change the past. We would not be happy with what it will be. Because we are human, I can tell that we would not be content with anything we’ve got from history.
Knowing our human personality, this movie feel like giving all of us the whole attitude to view our lives instead of grumbling all the time. There are two sides from everything, good and bad. It’s all your choice to look on the bright side or the dark side.

In my point of view, I think the movie trying to tell all the audience that "Time waits for no one", so before making decisions, we should think twice instead of randomly make decisions. To seize every moment and to cherish everything that we already have is the other key point that the movie wants to convey to us. We do not like the main character in the movie that has the magical power of going back to the past, so to grasp every opportunity and to do the things that we want to do is very significant. ReplyDeleteTime waits for no man. All we can do is to cherish every second and every minutes. In the real world, there might not be people leapt through time. However, many people desire to leap through time or come back past time when they regret for something.
In the movie, 琴 starts to advoid the boy who she likes when the boy confess his feeling and affection clearly. In reality, girl sometimes have the same notion. It's strange.

In my opinion, I think the movie wants to tell us that never think about past and go straight as what you think. Time passes so quickly that you don’t really have time to regret. We are not able to run after time, so why not just being happy everyday and never do things that will make you feel regrettable. As a result, once we have our dream, we should try very hard to achieve it without hesitation. That is, we shouldn’t make the plot in the movie happen in our real life. Seize the day and appreciate what you have right now. Don’t make everything happen “in the future”.

ReplyDeleteFrom my perspective, I think the movie conveys that we should never try to reverse the reality. We should grow up and become brave to face the truth. No matter how hard the thing it is for us to learn, we should accept it. By doing so, we can turn naive into mature, so we will have the ability to adapt to the new environment quickly. If we just try to stop anything from happening to us, it would be miserable and pathetic. We will never change, never learn something useful and just want to stay in the same circumstances which are very familiar to us. We will never gain a sense of achievement because everything is safe and easy to handle.
