  1. 1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
Her life is quite unusual in nineteen century. Women are supposed to step into marriage after growing up. However, Miss Potter made her mind to be single at the age of twenty. If I were Beatrix, I might have married someone in order to live up to my parents’ expectation. From my observation, Beatrix is a woman full of imagination and creativity, seeing animal friends moved in the picture. I really love the story she creates like Peter Rabbit. Her picture book is not only inspiring but also educational. The element of her book is so close to our daily life that arises resonance from her readers, drawing them into the world of Peter Rabbit. Moreover, I think she is the standard-bearer of female due to her picture books published in the stores. The pioneer always be the solitude one on the way of making history. I have to say she is really brave than we can have imaged.
    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I do appreciate Miss Potter of purchasing breathtaking grassland up the hill. She worked hard on her career and made a fortune to support her own living and conserve the lands. I was impressed by the astonishing scenery of England and wished having the ability of buying numerous pastures in the future. As for the reason why Beatrix wants to become a painter is the power of love given by Norman, a responsible gentleman. At first, I hold skeptical attitude towards Beatrix Potter, and I did not except that the picture book caused a storm in London. To everyone surprise, she did it. She made her own way of living and independent. Maybe one day, I can become a painter like her. Besides, her innocence and love for natural creatures touched my heart deeply ,inspiring me to create a girl live in my mind who can provide me endless naïve conception of the world.
    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?
Actually, my favorite recreation is totally different from typical activities. I am fond of observing architectures during my leisure time. When I was a little girl, I liked watching Japanese shows especially the one called全能住宅改造王. I wondered how could it be possible for the out-of-date house converted into multifunctional mansion. Since then, the architect seemed to cast a spell on me which cannot be removed. I am considering taking some course related to construction in the future. If I do have potential in that field, I would absolutely turn my way to that amazing world. But I think I would still loving English at the same time.

  2. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
    >>> I think Beatrix Potter's life is full of imagination and intense ambition. Because she has utter innocence, she always lives in her world of the fairy stories, which results in how vivid her picture books are.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
    >>> Yes, I admire Beatrix Potter very much. First, she had a wonderful career that she was interested in. In other words, she realized her dream to be a painter. I really hope some day I can be like her to pursue dream and make it come true. Second, I think highly of her determination to be independent from her parents and family’s property. She had a great ambition that some day she would be successful in painting. If I were her, I wouldn’t be brave to do it. I think that doing only by oneself is very difficult.

    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?
    >>> My favorite passtime is to make art creations. I am fond of collage that can express my originality. I also love to draw pictures with crayons and watercolor. I will feel pleased when my hands are infected with pigments. Sometime, I prefer to take pictures because I would like to catch every unforgettable moments. Though now I major in English, I have great aspiration to expand my field on art. I really hope to achieve my goal to have my own store selling merchandise made by me.

  3. I am so glad to that you two love to observe architecture and to make things of your own design respectively. How wonderful! Me too! In our class, there is the mid-term assignment of making a picture book based on Peter Rabbit. In May, we will also have an assignment of making your own Mother's Day card. That is the time when you can show your talents. Then, I will encourage you to join in a National Picture Book Competition! Maybe you will be even better than Beatrix Potter. You never know!

  4. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
I think Beatrix’s life was a good story. With her imagination and talent, she became a famous painter. At last, she became a farmer because she liked animals and wanted to protect the beautiful nature. The process was not always going smoothly, but she faced the problem and successfully overcame the problem.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
Yes, I really admire her. I appreciate her painting talent and creativity that what I’m really lack of. I admire that she was so independent that she had once thought of not getting married and her financial independence. She had such strong ambition that made her successful at the end. I hope I can be someone like her.

    (3) What is your favorite pastime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a career in that field?
I don’t think my pastime can help me pursue a career in the future. I like to listen to music but I don’t really have much knowledge about the music. I think I’ll try to improve my ability of oral-interpreting and the knowledge of music. Then I can be an oral interpreter for a foreign musician or singer as a future career.

  6. 1.She is growing up in a rich family, so she can learn how to draw and do it. I think she is a special person. She not only has wonderful skill of drawing, but also telent of telling story. How charming she tell the story! She also has crazy image and creation! When she insist to catch her dream and love, I think she is brave no matter in that year or now!

2.I very admire She can insist to her way becoming a painter. Because we always are defeated for real life, we might stand lots of criticism or unacceptable opinion. Undoubtedly, she always has a young heart or she can't interact with "her friends". I always want to travel to New Zealand so I can understand her feel about nature world. How beautiful world we have.

3.I like to play with children. This is the reason why I come to this class. I don't want to just be a teacher to teach children. I want to be a social worker to do something to change somebody's life. Altough I can't change this world, but I can give my love to the person who I meet.

  8. 1) I find Beatrix Potter’s life is ideal, colorful and courageous. She wants to live her own life and not to be a vase woman. She breaks average people’s concepts that women need to rely on her husband and care only housework. She exactly knows she wants painting and then she sticks to it, never giving up. She seizes every opportunity, so she is willing to learn what she never did before, such as book printing, farming and action. Besides, I find she is also very brave even though she lost her lover. She can let this become her strength to live independently. Then, she uses her money to buy a lot of land. To preserve Nature, she gave her land to the government. Finally, her life is a very inspiring to me.

    2) I admire Potter’s resolution to become a painter even though her parents didn’t agree at first. I want to have her ability to be totally financially independent. I also like her independent character that is do what she wants. Besides, she has a young mind, energy and hopes to face everyday challenges. Although she is depressed, she can always go through it and become stronger. Lastly, I love Nature, too. Therefore, I admire her to leave a lot of beautiful land and protect local animals for all people.

    3) My favorite pastime is swimming. When I was nine years old, I began to swim and became a swimmer. I have won a lot of silver and bronze medals since I was an elementary school student. However, after entering senior high school, I have a lot of pressure on my study, so I can’t swim every day. When I want to give up swimming, I came upon an idea that I can be a life guard instead of a swimmer. Therefore, I took advantage on one long summer vacation to accept training. Easily, I got a life guard license at the age of sixteen. But there is one limitation: only when I become eighteen years old can I save people in the sea or swimming pool. And now, I am eighteen, so I can be a life guard and I am eligible to accept another training, swimming coach training. I think it is still easy for me to get that license. In sum, I think, yes, I can pursue a career in swimming field. And it is also my favorite pastime.

  9. (1)First of all, I found Ms. Potter’s life was in a good situation, I mean she lived in a rich family; therefore, she got the chance to learn what she wanted to. This is very important of her life, if she did not live in that kind of family, I do not think we would have cute Peter Rabbit nowadays, isn’t it?
Second, her life was so vivid, meaningful and inspiring. She was not like other women in nineteenth century, she was independent and she fed herself by being an artist.
The last but not the least, she was satisfied and content her life. I think it is the most important view that I could find. If she was not content with her life, she would not be able to paint such lovely works.
    --------------------------------------------
    (2) Yes, in some way I do admire Ms. Potter. I do admire what have mentioned above. For example, Potter got the talent in painting which made her become rich and do many good things.
She had decided some decisions that not many women at that time would dare to decide, like not getting married or going out to visit her partner.
Also, I admire that she is devoted herself in protecting the natural and animals. She is very excellent and willing to do what she wants to do. It is not easy for us to be like her to keep on what we want to do; however, she just did it, bravely did it.
    ----------------------------------------------
    (3) Recently, I prefer watching some American episodes, like Criminal Minds, House, and the Vampire Diary.
I like suspense stories and plots or even some plots you need to let your brain keep working. I think I just like to be in the story and feel being with the characters. While reading or watching novels and dramas, I can search or even investigate matters with main characters.
It is very interesting and exciting for me to do things like this while I am free. Perhaps people like to do something casual or easy when they are off, but it is another way that could make me feel relaxed somehow. What’s more, sometimes I can learn something new from the novel and then I get another kind of new knowledge.
It seems it is impossible for me to pursue a career in this kind of field. However, I think sometimes I can make good use of what I might have learned from the novels or dramas.

  10. (1.) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
I think Beatrix's life is very unusual. At that time, people thought that the only road for women is to marry. However, Beatrix decided not to marry. I think it is a very brave and important decision especially at that conventional society. Beatrix is full of imagination, her best friends are those animals that she drew on the paper. I think she also very brave, because she went to the publishers looking for oppotunities by herself. Beatrix knew what she like and what she want, then she stick to her dream and never give up. I think her story is really unique, encouraging, and inspiring.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I admire Beatrix's courage to pursue her dreams. Although the publisher did not really like her painting books; however, she proved that she can did it and actually her books became extremely popular in London. She also independence in terms of finance, her career is very sucessful and make her a fortune. So she doesn't need to rely on her parents, she can afford to live on her own. Beatrix also used her money to buy a lot of lands. She conserve all the land and protect them from being develope, and these beautiful scenery can still be admired today. I also like Beatrix's innocent, young, and imaginary heart. Through her eyes, this world become very beautiful and interesting.

    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?
Recently, my favorite passtime is to take care of the plants. My father and I plant a lot of beautiful flowers in our balcony. To take care of them is very interesting, and watching them grow up is very amazing. Actually, for me, there are still so many things to learn about gardening. I do not really think I can pursue a career in gardening now, but I like to do it very much. I wish that maybe five years later, when I am really good at gardening, I can take it as a career and to plant a lot of beautiful flowers. I think it will be great and very interesting if my future career is gardening.

  11. 1. Beatrix Potter’s life is interesting and exciting. She went through ups and downs in her life. Her life is creative and inspiring. She could make up her own story when she was a child. She was confident in her ability. She believed her children book would become a best-seller, and it really is! Beatrix Potter’s live is brave and revolutionary. She went through the death of her beloved man. She braced up for the difficult time and found her new life in another place. Her life is really, though challenge, wonderful.
    2. I really admire Beatrix Potter. She insisted to realize her dream to be a painter no matter how strong her mother’s objection. She believed she could do eat and spent a lot of time and heart in painting. Besides, she is an independent girl. She, at last, decided not to depend on her parents’ fortune. She earned money on her own. In addition, she is also an innocent person. She loves nature and is willing to spend much money on buying a land to preserve beautiful nature. Thanks to her determination, we can enjoy beautiful scenery now.
    3. Actually, I love reading. When I feel bored, I love reading. I’m fond of different kinds of novels like romance, suspect or mystery and so forth. When I read them, I can have the feelings the authors want to convey. I may take pity on some characters or feel happy when the characters are happy. I love reading novels very much. I think maybe I can be a translator. Because when I translate a book, I can simultaneously do my work and enjoy reading. What’s more, I don’t really like to contact with many people. I prefer working at home and on my own. So I think this is a career that I can take into consideration.

  12. 1. Beatrix Potter is a great and imaginative painter. She filled her life with creativity and imagination, making it more meaningful and inspiring. I think she was really a brave and talented woman who stuck with her ideals firmly at that time. Besides being a painter, she was devoted herself to the environmental protection to express her love for both animals and Mother Nature. In my opinion, this may be the reason why she could create such an interesting story like Peter Rabbit.

    2. I admire her resolution to be a painter regardless of the opposition of her parents at first. At that time, women were supposed to step into the marriage, having little freedom to do what they really wanted to do. However, Beatrix Potter persisted in holding on to her dream and made it come true, proving that women could also make money to support themselves. In addition, I appreciate that she always kept an innocent and young mind, making her works full of fantasy and popular with lots of people to these days. Her love for animals and devotion to protect Nature is admirable and deserves learning, too. I think she is not only a great painter but also a good model for us to learn.

    3. When I was young, my favorite pastime was drawing since I could use my imagination to draw everything I wanted. Because drawing takes lots of time and there is much homework to do, I seldom draw a picture now. However, I think drawing is good for me since it inspires my creativity, making something unique and interesting on my own. Therefore, if I have much time now, I’d like to draw again. In addition, I need to learn some painting skills and develop my creativity if I want to be a painter in the future. There is still room for me to improve my painting well.

  13. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
She was born in a conventional society where women should get married early; however, she didn’t get married until 40. She was creative and different from other women; besides, she is talented to create many interesting stories and drawings. She had her own opinion to control her life, such as that since she found her first love and decided to marry him, she insisted on what she want to do no matter whether her parents approve or not. When she lost her love, she tried to focus on other meaningful things to go through adversity. She was very brave to face every difficulty by herself. Fortunately, she finally found her eternal mate who could keep company with her and escort her to do charities.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
Yes, I think I regard her as a paradigm when I saw her how to pursue her dream; besides, I can learn her independence and her bravery. Her enthusiasm to love the imaginary friends impressed me a lot. She was childlike and innocent so she was happy. The imaginative stories enchanted me as well because the characters are animated in front of your eyes. She earned a great amount of money but she donated it to buy the land for farmers. She was a respectful woman and a model for many people to follow.

    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?
I am font of going exercise, such as playing volleyball and tennis and listening to the music. I participated in athletic class when I was 11 years old. At that time, I started to practice every day, got up when the sky was still dark, went home when the sky was full of stars and made effort to progress to get good grade in competition. I thought it was my dream, I was an athlete. However, my parents deterred me from pursuing my dream because they thought athlete was not suitable for woman and women should study hard and get a good marriage. I accepted my parents’ arrangement in few years and started to study hard in order to get a good job. However, I still have the same dream in my mind but it’s too late and it would be a regret for me. Consequently, I appreciate Beatrix Potter because she didn’t care about her parents’ opposition but fulfilled her dream and became succeed.

  14. 1. In my opinion, Beatrix Potter’s life is interesting. There is lots of adventure for her to discover the precious parts in her life. The obstacles and ups and downs in Potter’s life really gave her a useful lesson and led her to live a better life on her own. It’s her strong will and the enthusiastic mind that let her become an independent and optimistic woman. She’s really a woman who did not fear of difficulties and pursued her goal courageously.

    2. I admire her courage to deal with the loss of her boyfriend and get over from it with her strong will. In our daily life, we must face with such sorrow some day. However, how to overcome it and lead a brand-new life is a great challenge. On the other hand, Miss Potter’s lovely and childish mind and her affection with the rabbit she painted attract me a lot. She made a cute story herself and got herself in it to cultivate the close affection with the rabbit. Maybe some people feel it’s kind of strange for a person to do so, but I am in an opposite point of view. I think that if one wants to succeed in the field he or she is in, one must know thoroughly about what he or he is doing. By get themselves into their field, they can make wonderful job!

    3. My favorite pastime is listening to music in my leisure time. I like to appreciate the tune and lyrics of songs and make a beautiful landscape painting in my mind.
I think listening to music can make me feel relaxed and happy!

  15. I think Beatrix Potter was very brave and her story is inspiring. She tried her best to promote herself to the publisher, even if many people doubted her talent and wonderful drawing skill. In that time, the only fate of women was to wait for men who were in the equal state to get married, but Beatrix broke the destiny and chased her own love although she didn’t get a happy ending, but she still become an independent woman.
Her story inspires me that I also can become a woman who can depend on myself. I also can chase me dreams although there will be lots of obstacles. When facing difficulties, I should hold my faith firmly. In the end, I can get everything I want.
Her innocent mind and young heart also touch me. As I grow up, more and more things become complicated, and I would forget how to smile from the bottom of heart. However, I still have to become an adult, face the reality, and become sophisticated. Beatrix always held her innocence toward everything and everyone and it is the most precious thing in the world. I have to remind myself to be young and innocent no matter what happens.
In one of my dreams, I want to become a photographer for wedding pictures. When women put on wedding dresses, they will become the most beautiful women in the world and I want to capture the moment. Although the Marriage Rate is decreasing, I also want to keep the newlyweds’ smile and happiness. In the future, I want to take some photographic courses, if I can’t be a photographer, it is still a hobby.

  16. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
In my opinion, I think Beatrix’s life is quite different from other women at that time. Her life is full of imagination and creativity. It seems that all the pictures she draws are given the ability to live just like real creatures. She always has the childlike and young heart that her life seems worriless. Although she lost her first love, we can still tell that she has an optimistic attitude toward life.
    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I do admire Beatrix potter in two ways. One is that her determination to become a painter. Although she is rejected by some publishers several times, she doesn’t give up eventually. Instead, she sticks to her dreams. And finally her dream comes true. We should listen to ourselves heart, follow our interests and try to master in it! The second way is that her innocent mind and young heart. I can’t even believe that a woman at her age can have such a childlike mind. Having childlike mind at late 30s is not that bad thing. Take Potter for example, she seems to be happy like a child every day. How I admire this life she has!
    (3) What is your favorite pastime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a career in that field?
My favorite pastime is play basketball. I like play basketball because I can play with my friends and increase an unvoiced pact between. At the same time, I can do exercise so as to keep shape. Although I am now a member of our school basketball team and I really enjoy the victory when I beat other schools with my teammates, I think that playing basketball is still a hobby for me. I think I won’t pursue a career in basketball field. Because I don’t have extremely regular and hard trainings like professional players, and I think a basketball player has the time limit. You can’t be too old or get hurt, or you sport life will come to an end.

Before seeing the movie about Beatirx Potter, I thought she was a person who's life was monotonous. Nonetheless, things turned out to be totally wrong. To my surprise, Beatrix Potter enjoyed her life, enjoyed painting naimals, enjoyed her talented imagination and enjoyed telling stories. In my opinion, Beatrix Potter's life was full of interesting plot and creative drawing imagination. Some of her deeds inspire us to do whatever we think are right. It doesn't matter waht others think or how many people have denied your actions. What Beatrix Potter had done are very revolutionary.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
Admiration is already not enough to discribe my feeling toward Beatrix Potter. I respect her in many ways. Beause I am not good at drawing, I envy her skill at drawing pictures. Moreover, all of her book picture about different kinds of animals are quite vigor which are filled with creation and imagination. It's not easy for people to focus on one thing and never care about what others think, no matter how positive those comments are. She was a financial indepentent woman which is I pursue to be in the future.

In my leisure time, I am fond of polishing my slender fingernails. It is my interest which has nothing to do with English. Sometimes, I will be asked to polish other people's nails since they said I am good at polishing not only mine but also others' nails. 18. (1)I think that Beatrix Potter was a person with idea of her own. At that time, women should get married at young age and people focus on the families of equal standing. However, she didn’t give in. She insisted on waiting for her Mr. Right although he was not at the same standing. Beatrix Potter was an imaginary person, she viewed the Petter Rabbit as her best friend and she even saw the Petter Rabbit moving in the book.

(2)Yes. She always insisted on pursuing her dreams and never gave up even though encountering difficulties. I was deeply impressed by her strong determination. I thought it was hard to do. I also admired her independence. Although she didn’t get married, she could maintain her live by the income of her painting.

(3)My favorite pastime is playing balls. I think it hard for me to do anything about arts like painting or writing. I am poor in art and I lack of patience to finish those things. So I cannot imagine myself to pursue a career in that field.

  20. 1. Beatrix Potter was an independent and strong-minded woman. Her life was very unusual and different from other women at that time. She had been occupied with drawings since she was little. Beatrix was enthusiastic about her to-be-published pictures books when she met her supporter. The way Beatrix saw the world with unique perspectives is admirable. The desire and the concentration Beatrix shew are laudable. I would like to be as creative and optimistic, persistent and independent as she.

    2. Beatrix did her favorite things with great interest and vividness. Her non-stop energy and passion led her to the stardom of artistry world. Beatrix was endowed by nature with great talents in drawing. She could use simple scratches to portray lively comic celebrities. Beatrix's innate humor and smart self-rediculing are two enviable personality traits. She was also benevolent towards nature and people. Beatrix is indeed models of all times.

    3. I like to draw cartoon characters' clothes and accessories but I can't draw postures and expressions of cartoon characters. I like to take photos of nature instead of structures, because structures are too stiff and solid and thus unchangeable but not the case with photos of nature. I think by using various angles I can take special and unique photos of nature. I've never taken courses of photographing so I may not be aware of the difficulty in photographing. I can cultivate my photographing skills every day because I like take photos very much. As for drawing, because my sister majors in advertisement, I know that drawing is not as simple as I thought. I would just draw small pictures in my leisure time.

  21. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?

Through the whole story, I have found that Beatrix Potter's life is really creative and special. She lives in her little world filled with a lot of imagined creature and she also gives names to these cute creatures. Her life is full of fun and adventure.
And when she fell in love with the publisher who adores her works, her inspiration was increasing fast. But as the publisher died, she found her inspiration gone and appeared no more. Therefore, she went to live in a small hilltop village to find her inspirations back.
Personally, I think she is not only brave, but also a woman who knows what she want for herself and how to achieve what she wants. And her act does effect people in some ways. Like, if you really want to achieve something, you really need to stop caring about what others think of you.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?

In a lot of ways, I admire Beatrix Potter's courage of insisting doing what she loves, her determination of insisting leaving the house to live on her own and keeping her mind young.
In fact, there weren't a lot of people who can keep their mind young or trying things that are unconventional. But despite all the obstacles, Beatrix Potter still managed to do such a great work. Therefore, she is really a woman that deserve to be looked upon on!

    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?

From my childwood, I have always wanted to become a singer. Therefore, singing and dancing are my favorite passtime. Except just dancing and singing at home, I also joined clubs in our school so that I can relax myself while having so much works from school.
And through all the practice and performances, I believe in myself that I will be able to achieve my dream of becoming a singer if I had the chance to show myself.

I think her life is full with colors and fun. When she was a kid, her parents thought she’s just a little girl who likes to draw but nothing else. Actually her head is full of imaginations. I remember that her father said he never thought his daughter would publish book someday. It’s like she proved to her parents that she can make a living by drawing. It’s a really brave thing to do for a woman at that time. We can see how she stands up for herself and speaks up for herself and for “Peter Rabbit”. It inspires people to chase your dreams and don’t be afraid to fall. I think it tells parents something too. Don’t force your child to do things that you want them to do, let them find there own interest and let them be in there world, support them maybe some day you’ll find your kid can do wonderful things and have a great carrier doing what they love and live a happy life. So I think her life not only full with colors and fun but inspiring and creative, Of course she is really a Brave woman.
    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I admire her in every way. Her courage, worm hart, independence and the willpower she has. Seeing how she looks for publishers to publish her book trying every thing she can and wish to lower the cost so every children can read her book no matter poor or rich, and how she wishes to buy the farms that are been sold to keep the landscape. Her strength and the love in her hart really touch me. Although her parents didn’t agree with a lot of things, she still fight for herself. I think I wouldn’t be so strong if I were her. She is truly a great and successful woman.

My favorite pastime is dancing. I think if I work really hard to improve myself and become a great dancer, maybe I’ll have a chance to become a dance teacher or a professional dancer. But both of these jobs would need a lot of practice and a lot a lot of self improve. It’ll take years of hard work and learning to improve myself so wish me good luck. Ha ha ~

POTTER is revealing as a portrait of the constraints and expectations of women at that time, as it is an insight into the creative mind.Story makes me feel at peace in a world that is too self centered and fast.
Some details would have made a more complete picture of her, including her powerful intellect, and the problems of being a woman in a man's world.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?

Yeah, “the determination” is the biggest reason that I think she is a good model for us to adore. It shows how a woman can stand up for herself what ever circumstances she maybe in.

    And my dear teacher,
i feel tired and uncomfortable now,
so i think this week's comment
    i did my best :(
    next week
    it'll be better:)

I think her life is the same as a roller coaster. Even she was thirty something but she did not have any income and got married. In her era, no words could express how terrible it was. Nevertheless, she insisted on her painting and promoted herself again and again. In the long run, she got her dream career and the guy she loved the most. It seemed that everything went well. Out of the blue, her fiancé died of cough. She was down for a while but she lifted herself up immediately. Since then, she had been in a wonderful life.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?

I admire the way she earned money. It is so amazing when you combine your hobby and your work. You would never feel any dismay when encountering the frustrations. Most of us are forced to do the work that we do not like very much. However, we are under so much pressure that we could not be headstrong not to do anything but the work we love. If I should have the work combined with my interest, I would become a lucky man.

    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?

Chatting is my favorite pastime. I could share my thoughts with the ones I like. Even I could hear what they thought of my points. Everyone is so different that we have chance to meet the problems in another way by befriending with others. The most importantly, you’ve got to find a flock of people having the similar hobbies.

  26. (1) I think that Beatrix Potter’s life is uncommon and revolutionary. She had her own principles and she endeavored to work on her interests. So talented she was that she created Peter Rabbit which has been a popular character for centuries. On the other hand, I feel sympathetic for her love. She lost her beloved Norman. They loved each other so much but had no chance to get married and live together.

    (2) I do appreciate Miss Potter because I always admire those good at drawing. She started drawing in her childhood and told stories by herself. And she is utterly innocent that she saw her pictures vivid. No one could expect that her works brought her great fortune. The more commendable part is her contribution. She bought a large area of mountain and a farm out of love for animals and the nature. In my opinion she is a really unselfish and great woman.

    (3) In my leisure time, I listen to music and watch films. Recently I like to go outdoors and visit popular places. But I do not think either of them can have connection with my future career. They are jsut “pastimes.”

  28. (1)How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
Beatrix Potter’s life was full of both exciting and interesting things owing to her abilities and creativities. Most of women born in an abundant family at that time would follow their parents’ orders and reach to their expectations; on the contrary, she didn’t want her parents to decide the life that she should have because she already had her ideal life in her mind; therefore, she realized her own dreams by all means no matter what obstacles she would confront. Besides, due to her bravery, she finally published her picture book and proved that she could not only have a wonderful life by drawing picture books but also become a single woman who was able to be financial independent of her parents.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
First, I admire her determination most because she understood exactly what she pursued and tried best to figure out the solution to each difficulty. And, once she made up her mind to do something it seems that no one can easily change her decision even her parents. Secondly, I admire that she can make her dream come true and obtain not only a career which she was fond of but also a wonderful life. Last but not least, I admire her ambitions which motivate her to move forward in order to realize her dream.

I like to play the piano in my free time because it can not only cultivate my mind but also make me feel relaxed by listening to soft music. As far as I am concerned, I think piano can only be my sideline because I make up my mind to establish my own trading company although I haven’t found the exactly way to fulfill it, yet I hope that once I decide to make it then I can stick it out.

Beatrix Potter is a small princess. Her mother forbade her to play with other children when she was a child. This is reason why she has independent.I feel surprised that she bravely pursue her love and she don’t seems to be as brave women. She is very keen on her child's picture, even if the parents object to it, she likes. The is too special I ever heard !

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
It is very difficult to like a thing and can be sustained till now. From this way we can find out how she like to draw child's picture. Even if I do not know the content that she draws of the picture, it is really very interesting. I want to buy a child's book for my children. Protect nature is not just mouth-talking, it is really very admirable for her to do.

I like listening to the music, see the film, and playing basketball in my passtime. Carrier?Maybe not.But I very like to write with the novel. When in junior high school, I like writing the novel. When the teacher’s topic came out each time, I write in my way. The novel that I wrote is published in the school too, but the one that I have written is so poor. But I will have written all the time, because this is the thing that I like to do.

I find her life was interesting because she could enjoy her paintings and drawings. She’s also creative enough to produce so many portrays. She’s so courageous to try to desolate herself from her parents. She led a good life because her parents are rich. However, I think it’s appreciable that she wanted to make her own living. This story really motivates me and tells me that I should have my own life even without my parents. I must have ability to earn for myself.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I think people with talent to draw and depict can amuse themselves. Although they might somehow live in their own lives because they are absorbed in their own works, their masterpieces are definitely commendable and praiseworthy. I really appreciate her devotion to portraying choppy and clubby animals, particularly rabbits. It is ordinary to encounter deaths of family or friends. However, it is mournful and cruel for her to lose her earnest lover. To overcome this kind of situations might take time. She led a rich life; however, she’s independent. She did her best to earn money and even earn a house, a field which she donated to government in order to preserve the natural environment.

    (3) What is your favorite pastime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a career in that field?
My favorite pastime is singing songs and listening to music. I can sing for a long time in KTV and my throat won’t get worse. This winter vacation I sang off and on 45 hours in total. Being a singer might be merely a dream, but I won’t give up singing and broadening my knowledge about music and symphony. I also admire opera and dance and sing drama. Movies and television programs are important in my life as well. Although I have some difficulty making good performance in English and getting good grades on exams as other classmates in school now, I feel optimistic and positive toward my future. I think I just have a longer way and harder load to go.

She has a mind of her own since she knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that what she really wants and what her goal is instead of following others footstep blindly. Accordingly, she began to chase after her dream and led a full and varied life.

    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
Yes, I admire Beatrix Potter in any way because she is quite different from any other woman. She doesn’t want to rely on men but make money by her own. In addition, she still keeps innocent mind and young heart though she is a grown-up, which makes her successful in the area of picture books. After she made a lot of money, she didn’t splash out her money but bought a farm to preserve animals and the natural beauty ,hence until now we still can appreciate such amazing scenery.

    (3) What is your favorite pastime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a career in that field?
When I was a junior high school student, my favorite pastime was drawing characters. At that time, I even thought I could be a master of the caricature; however, it was my mother told me that being a master of the caricature is just a daydream and asked me to face the music. I am glad that I obeyed my mom’s word and looked for other interesting field; otherwise, I would not find my favorite subject, English.

  33. 1. How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?

Beatrix Potter’s life is ideal which is different from other women in her time. She lives her life in an exciting way and not to be a common woman.

    2. Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?

What I admire her the most is that she made people change the concepts that women must depend on their husbands and sacrifice their own dreams only for housework. I admire her courage for pursuing her dreams, and she really did it. At last, she is even able to buy lots of lands on her own. Also, I like Beatrix's innocence, curiosity and imaginary. Through her eyes, everything turns in lively and interesting.

    3. What is your favorite pastime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a career in that field?

I love language learning although it might not sound like a funny thing to do for some people. I find myself happy and satisfied when learning different languages.

  34. For question number one, I think her life is brave and revolutionary. Because at that time everyone takes little value of her talent and she is to be force to marry like any other girl during that period of time. But she is brave to stand on her feet and do what she insists on. The revolutionary part comes when she finally pubilshes her books and earns a living by her own. Second, I am awestruck of Beatrix Potter for her determination and her bravery and her innocent mind and young heart! Her determination is really what I want to possess. Most people at that time don't earn a living from printing books and drawing pictures but Beatrix Potter does it. And she does it really well! And thus, she's independent and she can live by herself rather than rely on her parents. And then she would have free time to be devoted to her creations, her animals and the natural world. The last one, my favorite passtime... I think it's listening to music but I am not going to be a singer in the future so I guess I am not to pursue a career in that field.

  35. (1) How do you find Beatrix Potter's life? Interesting and exciting? Creative and inspiring? Brave and revolutionary?
I think her life is full of brave, revolutionary and challenging. She encountered a lot of difficulties, but she was still willing to overcome it and face the reality. That is what I really admire. For example, when she got the information that her feance has died and she can't even go and see him, if I were in her shoes, I will really feel very desperated. But in her condition, she overcame it and in stead, met another good person who happened to be his husband in the end. This tells me that when God closed a window of yours, He will definitely open another window for you.
    (2) Do you admire Beatrix Potter in any way? Her determination to become a painter? Her independence in terms of finance and character? Her innocent mind and young heart? Her love for animals and the natural world?
I admire Beatrix Potter in all the ways you've just mentioned above. I think that these are the things that I would love to learn in the feauture or maybe now!!When people grow up, they began to lost their innocent mind and began to act like an adult. That is what I don't want. I would like to be like Beatrix, to love animals, to think like a kid and to act like an adult.
    (3) What is your favorite passtime? Drawing? Knitting? Taking photographs? Writing? Do you think you can pursue a carrer in that field?
My favorite passtime is dancing. I like dancing a lot that I really did began to consider to be a dancer in athe feauture. But after I thoght claerly, I found out that it is really a little bit difficult.People get old, and when I get old, I might not be able to move freely, that would be like death to a dancer. Therefore, I think that if I really want to dance for all my life, then I would have to develop another career that I can pay for my rent in the feauture.
